LASF PAYS OUT K72.2 MILLION, 1,745 RETIREES PAID

The Local Authorities Superannuation Fund (LASF) has paid out K72,270,336.69 to 1,745 pensioners in annuities and lumpsum benefits since the commencement of the payment
process in the first week of October 2019.
Out of this number, 1,328 pensioners have been paid in full while 417 have received partial payment of their benefits. This is part of the K251 million released by the Government on September 25, 2019, to LASF so that the Fund dismantles outstanding pension arrears
LASF has put in place a robust payment programme that is focused on the principle of “first in first out”. This means that retirement benefits that have been pending from as far back as 2013 are now being paid in full. In this vein, we are doing everything in our power to reach out to our pensioners and beneficiaries country wide to ensure that they have access to
their retirement benefits.
The Fund is committed to Government’s vision of ensuring that all retirees are paid their retirement benefits as this will contribute to poverty reduction in the country. Additionally, the retirement packages paid to pensioners will have a positive impact on Zambia’s
economy.
We wish to encourage our members to ensure they fill in the requisite forms and keep their bank accounts active so that we do not have challenges in remitting their money to their respective accounts.
