History

The Local Authorities Superannuation Fund (LASF) was created under Government Notice Number 314 of the 1954, initially as a pension scheme for expatriate officers only, until the passing of LASF Act, Cap 476 in May 1963, when membership was extended to all permanent officers and employees aged between 18 and 50 years and earning not less than K500.00 annually. In 1997, the LASF Act was renumbered Cap 284, of the Laws of Zambia.
