The Local Authority Superannuation Fund (LASF) said a heartfelt goodbye to a true giant of the LASF family, Mr. Christopher Muti, who has officially retired after 26 incredible years of dedicated service!

It was an emotional day as LASF celebrated a man whose commitment wasn’t just impressive—it was legendary. The Acting Managing Director Mr. Milner Mooba noted that many knew him as the ‘High Priest’ because he always put prayer first, making it the foundation of his entire work ethics.

Mr. Muti didn’t just meet standards, he set them. He was famous for his absolute commitment to moving files on time, a unique culture he pioneered.

“Imagine this, Mr. Muti would make sure he is here by 6:00 AM and that all offices were clean before the rest of the staff even reported. Never was there a day when Mr. Muti failed to deliver on his tasks, come rain, come sunshine. That, friends, is the definition of dedication”Mr Mooba said.

For many, Mr Muti kept spirits high as a charismatic and very cheerful person who was always ready to uplift people’s mood, and was consequently considered as an anchor of positivity in the office space.

Mr. Muti’s journey is a testimony of what hard work can achieve, starting as a security guard in 1995  he joined LASF in 1999 as an Office Assistant, a job he held dearly and delivered with so much passion.

During the same occasion, Zambia Union of Financial Institutions Workers (ZUFIAW) LASF Branch representative Catherine Nyirenda, described Mr Muti as a person who endeared so many colleagues as he was always available to offer cousel whenever needed.

And Finance and Investment Manager Francis Chansa who spoke on behalf of the Management Team, praised him for his unmatched respect for everyone, while acknolwledging his ability to recognise protocol and job responsibility.

In response, Mr. Muti thanked everyone for the love, respect, and care he enjoyed during his long career stay at the Fund. He advised staff members to be prayerful while maintaining unity as this was a sure recipe to making LASF great.

Mr. Muti, this isn’t goodbye—it’s just the beginning of a new phase in life. LASF wishes you health, happiness, and all the best! You leave behind a true legacy of service.
