{"id":7524,"date":"2024-08-01T10:56:16","date_gmt":"2024-08-01T10:56:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lasf.org.zm\/?p=7524"},"modified":"2024-08-01T10:56:21","modified_gmt":"2024-08-01T10:56:21","slug":"wilson-bretherton-retires-after-21-years-of-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lasf.org.zm\/?p=7524","title":{"rendered":"Wilson Bretherton Retires after 21 years of service"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Local Authorities Superannuation Fund (LASF) bade farewell to one of its most<br>dedicated employees who retired after diligently serving the Fund for an impressive 21 years.<br>Head of Procurement and Supplies Department, Wilson Bretherton has left an indelible mark<br>particularly with the establishment and growth of the Procurement and Supplies Department<br>of the Fund which has consistently been rated highly by the Zambia Public Procurement<br>Authority (ZPPA).<br>During the retirement send off, Managing Director George Chileshe said Mr Bretherton was<br>an integral component of the management team at LASF and his valuable contribution would<br>be missed.<br>Mr Chileshe applauded Mr Bretherton\u2019s unwavering commitment to excellence and tireless<br>work ethics.<br>\u201cMr Bretherton is credited with setting up the Procurement and Supplies Department, in 2004<br>and he was lead in creating the processes for the Department. Because of this, the inspection<br>audit from ZPPA is currently at 83 percent, an indication of how well he did in setting up the<br>department\u201d, he said.<br>Mr Chileshe also applauded Mr Bretherton\u2019s work attitude in as far as integrity is concerned<br>and urged the employees who were gathered to bid farewell to emulate the high level of<br>integrity.<br>The call for integrity should go to all of us as an institution. It is important to avoid<br>speculation, read and master your profession very well and then apply yourselves<br>appropriately\u201d, he said.<br>In his farewell message, Mr Bretherton said it was an honour to have served LASF for over<br>two decades. He said that he was leaving with a sense of fulfilment knowing that the<br>Procurement team was stronger than ever.<br>He expressed a mix of emotions as he was happy to retire while at the same time was sad that<br>he was separating from his work family.<br>\u201cI am happy that I have worked to the best of my ability and I have upheld my call to<br>integrity. I urge all of you to embrace integrity as that is the only sure way you will retire<br>with a clean record.
