Membership of LASF\u00a0 is drawn from the following Institutions :<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All the Councils in the Republic of Zambia<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ZESCO<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 National Housing Authority<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eastern Water and Sewerage Company<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the LASF Act , a Local Authority means ;<\/p>\n

(a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A City Council,<\/p>\n

(b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A Municipal council<\/p>\n

(c)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A District Council and<\/p>\n

(d)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Any other statutory body of persons which the Minister of Local Government may, in consultation with the Board of the Local Authorities Superannuation Fund, declare by statutory instrument as a local authority.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A member means any employee of a Local or Associated Authority who is contributing to the Fund or any person who is in receipt of an \u201cAnnuity\u201d. An \u201cAnnuity\u201d means an annual sum payable out of the Fund during the lifetime of a member or of the Widow of a member.<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A member is also required under the LASF Act to register his \/ her dependants with the Fund : \u201c Dependant\u201d in relation to a member means :<\/p>\n

(a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Any of the following persons whose name has been notified to the Fund in writing by the member :<\/p>\n

\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Spouse or Minor child of such a member<\/p>\n

\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A parent , brother , sister, stepchild, minor adopted child or adult child of such member wholly or in part dependent upon such member for support and maintenance and<\/p>\n

\u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Any other person who satisfies the Fund that he\/she is wholly dependant upon such member for support and maintenance.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
