LASF Teams Up with First Lady

IN its continued Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, the Local Authorities
Superannuation Fund (LASF) has joined the Esther Lungu Foundation Trust (ELFT) in
its pledge to build a new, modern dormitory at Matero Aftercare Centre.
Participating in the Matero Aftercare Centre Open Day on February 20, 2020, an event
at which the First Lady, Mrs. Esther Lungu was the Guest of Honour, LASF donated
K5000.00 to the building project.
Presenting the donation during the Open Day held under the theme “Together We Can
Make a Difference”, LASF Public Relations Manager Chishimba Milongo said the Fund
would continue supporting the Centre in various areas of need to enable the facility offer
a conducive home for underprivileged people.
LASF was among other institutions, individuals, and business houses which came on
board to render a helping hand to the underprivileged, with some of them pledging to
sustain the institution’s operational needs.
First Lady Esther Lungu, who graced the occasion, thanked the various institutions that
came on board.
Matero Aftercare Centre chairperson Helen Samatebele thanked all organizations and
companies that participated in the Open Day.
She said the donation by LASF would supplement the monthly grant the Centre
receives from Government.
In October 2019, a team of LASF staff led by Managing Director George Chileshe,
painted some buildings at the Centre as one of the activities under its Corporate Social
Responsibility initiative.
